Projects

The Kingfisher Development Project

The Kingfisher project, operated by CNOOC Uganda Limited (CUL) is the other petroleum production project in the country. It involves preparations to produce 168 million barrels (MMbbls) of oil and is majorly located in Hoima and Kikuube Districts.

The Tilenga Project

The Tilenga project, operated by TotalEnergies EP Uganda (TEPU) is one of the country's two (2) petroleum production projects. It project involves preparation to produce 874 million barrels (MMbbls) of oil and is mainly located in Buliisa and Nwoya districts.

The Uganda Refinery Project

This includes the development of a sixty thousand (60,000) bopd green field Refinery in Kabaale, Hoima district and will include a two hundred and eleven (211) km multi-products pipeline to a Storage terminal as well as a Distribution hub, both to be located at Namwambula, Mpigi district.

The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Project

The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project is a 1,443 km, 24-inch diameter heat traced pipeline that will evacuate crude oil from Kabaale, Hoima district in Uganda, to a marine terminal at Chongoleani, Tanga district in Tanzania.

Exploration Projects

Exploration works to assess the potential for addition petroleum resources in Uganda are ongoing in following areas: the Ngassa (deep and shallow) blocks operated by Oranto Petroleum, Kanywataba area operated by Armour Energy Uganda Limited, Turaco area operated by DGR Global and the Kasuruban area operated by the Uganda National Oil Company.

The Kabalega Industrial Park

Kabalega Industrial Park is a key oil and gas hub located in Hoima District, Uganda, managed by the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC). Covering 29.6 km², it features major infrastructure including Kabalega International Airport, a 60,000-barrel-per-day refinery, and the East African Crude Oil Pipeline terminal. The park will also host zones for petrochemical industries, agro-processing, logistics, and ICT. Once complete, it is expected to generate up to $4.9 billion annually and create around 3
